I would like to mention to the membership to please beware of several scams that continue to be in the area. We have had members tell us they have been scammed or attempted to be scammed in a variety of ways. Some have been asked to be secret shoppers and send merchandise. Some have been selling items on Ebay or Craigslist and have been offered more than the asking price with the seller sending some of the money back. Others have been scammed through potential dating services. In all instances the check you receive is not a valid check and you end up having done what they ask with nothing to show for except having to pay the credit union back for the bad check.
Please be careful and research what you are getting into.
Sometimes if it sounds to good to be true it is.
