Congratulations and best wishes on the recent retirement of the Board of Directors Chairman John Bibeault (right). Mr. Bibeault served on the Board of Directors for the last 24 years, of which he served the last 8 years as Chairman. He was recently honored at the Annual Meeting and was presented with a gift from Jim Wood, CEO on behalf of the Credit Union.

SCAM ALERTS

We would like the members to be aware of a scam regarding money as a secret shopper.  Some of our members have been contacted about being a secret shopper for money.  They would receive a check and are asked to purchase items and send them or the check is more than what it was supposed to be and they are asked to Western Union the extra back.  In the meantime the check they received is fraudulent. If you receive this please contact your local police department.

Please be aware of another scam that is taking place through e-mail. The e-mail is generic in nature but states that your direct deposit failed to go through and instructs you to go to "their" secure website to view the details. This is not authorized by the Blackstone River Federal Credit Union and we urge you to delete this e-mail if received. If you are ever contacted by anyone claiming to be a representative of the Credit Union and you are unsure, hang up and call the Credit Union directly and inquire about the nature of the phone call and we can verify if it was a valid call. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE OUT ANY PERSONAL INFORMATION OVER THE PHONE OR THROUGH E-MAIL.
