Courtesy Pay Overdraft Protection
Courtesy Pay is a form of overdraft protection designed to help prevent your insufficient funds items from being returned or declined. With Courtesy Pay, we have the option to cover your overdrafts up to your Courtesy Pay limit (including fees) if you inadvertently overdraw your account. This can save you the embarrassment and inconvenience of a returned or declined item and the fees normally charged by merchants for items returned to them.
If Courtesy Pay is utilized, we will charge the standard overdraft fee(s) for each paid item as disclosed in our rate and fee schedule. You will need to bring your account current within 30 calendar days of the Courtesy Pay being utilized or we will withdraw your overdraft privileges until the account is brought current.
All overdrafts will be handled in accordance with our overdraft procedures or an overdraft protection plan you have with us. The credit union’s determination of an insufficient account balance may be made at any time between presentation and the credit union’s midnight deadline, with only one review of the account required. We do not have to notify you if your account does not have funds to cover drafts, fees or other posted items. Whether the item is paid or returned, your account may be subject to a charge as set forth in the Schedule of Fees. We, by covering one or any overdraft, do not agree to cover overdrafts in the future and may discontinue covering overdrafts at any time without notice. If we pay a draft or impose a fee that would otherwise overdraw your account, you agree to pay the overdrawn amount immediately or in accordance with our overdraft protection plan you may have with us.
Please contact the credit union for further information on how the program works and fees associated with the program.
